Who is the CFEF?

The Community Financial Education Foundation (CFEF) is a non-profit, national financial literacy organization dedicated to educating Americans on financial responsibility and teaching skills that allow individuals to manage their personal finances and lives more effectively.

What does the CFEF do to promote Financial Literacy?

The CFEF works in many ways to educate Americans on the importance of financial education. Below are just a couple ways we are working to build a brighter tomorrow.

CFEF Borrow Smart America

Borrow Smart America is a free interactive financial education program developed by the CFEF. Borrow Smart America was designed to aid consumers in creating household budgets, projecting future expenses, setting savings goals and improving personal credit.

CFEF Financial Education Advocacy

The CFEF believes that personal finance education should be taught in our nation's schools at all grade levels. The CFEF works hard to promote the benefits of financial education and advocates for each state to bring personal finance instruction into public high schools by the fall of 2010.

CFEF Grants & CFEF Scholarship

The CFEF provides grant and Scholarship provisions to community groups and individuals that express a need and are dedicated to promoting Financial Education.

Why does the CFEF believe financial education is so important?

Financial Education is some everyone can benefit from. Being financially responsible is imperative in order for individuals to build a brighter future. We believe that financial literacy is a life long learning process.

Learning the basic principles of money management will broaden an individual's economic horizons and enrich their life and their community.
